I recently tried to install a tachometer in my 1989 F-150 302 and when I went to crank the truck, the engine ran for half a second and now all I get is crank but no start... Smells like gas when I crank it though. Since I spliced of the negative side of the coil, I'm suspecting to have a fusible link that couldn't handle all the amps.... Can anyone tell me where these are located, especially Fusible Link D? (It goes to the coil by a White/LightBlue wire, I am suspecting that one to have blown up).

Hope that fixes my problem.... Any help is appreciated at this point.

I did not think a 1989 F-series had a fuse link "D". The 1988 had a fuse link "D" down near the column under the hood near the Master Cylinder but I thought the 1988 F-series was the last year for the Ignition fuse link.
The 1989 E-series did have one near the Master Cylinder however.

 

Fixed it by unplugging the spout connector on the distributor and plugging it back in. Weird issue.
