Dash light and tail lights won't work

First post guys so any help is greatly appriciated. On my way home tonight and my tail lights and my dash lights quit working. Everything else still works as far as I know, didn't try the hazards. I checked the fuses and found that the one in the top left hand corner under the dash was blown. Stopped and got a fuse and put it in, lights worked long enough for me to get out of the parking lot and quit again. What is the problem? Where should I start?

Most of the time the problem is a short to ground in the trailer plug at the rear bumper. If not that then the wiring at the back of the truck going to the plate light and tail lights. If that is all OK then the wiring along the frame on the drivers side.
