What's the Deal?

I went into my FTE account to update my old email address to my current one. --because my PM inbox keeps filling up and I have to delete stuff off of it to make more room there and figured it would be simpler for the people messaging me to just do it directly through my own email.

When I went to save the email update, it made it like I was a new user here. Even though beside my user name it still says I've been here since April, 2011 and have a post count of 3,054, I get this message:

Notices

"Welcome to FTE, the largest Ford-Truck site on the Internet. To access certain features of this site, such as Private Messages, Signatures, our Classifieds section you need to make at least 5 posts on our forum, and have been a member for at least 10 days."

The Visitor Messages MAY still work but, my PM doesn't and right now I can't send anything out through a PM (??).

Did you get any sort of email saying you need to validate your email address again?

Something like that. It sent an email to me for me to click on to validate it. It accepted but, when I came back to this site/forum, it was as if I had been registered as a New User and says I have to make at least 5 posts and that I have to wait 10 days for my PMs and some other functions to work(??).

Steve that problem sounds like it could be tied into Obama healthcare web site.

I actually have no idea why that happened to your account. You should have your usual permissions back now.

Things seem to be back to normal now. Thanks! This means you're still the man.

....and thanks to John for calling 911 to help get this quagmire straightened out.

I went through this same thing not long ago. Got everything taken care of, however I can't add any emoticons. I can add pictures, I can cut and paste, I can do everything except emoticons.
I've cleaned cookies I've done everything I can think of but still no emoticons. Oh well.

Another strange side effect, since this has happened is, I get hit with an email now everytime someone responds in a thread I've posted in. I went in to disable the feature to receive emails in this situation so, I'll have to see if it actually stops them from flooding my personal email with notices.

Good luck. I've PMd a mod with the same question three different times and haven't gotten so much as a reply.
