Older customer had a miss fire on #8 on a 5.4 3v pulled the cop and changed the cop and boot. Went for a drive miss fire on#5/7. I talked to a dealership friend he said to check the catalytic convertor on left bank? I did sure enough first cat plugged solid. He suggested changing the plugs the truck has 190000 miles I replaced the plugged cat,pulled all the plugs and cops and changed them. I had to remove the pcm to get plug 4.
Now my problem is that the truck feeling like it running on 3 cylinders, or is in some kind of limp mode I checked the vct solenoids for broken screens. It seems like it's not firing properly. Triple checked connections plus no codes on solus. Please no criticism just some ideas thanks. Compression test is next maybe bad valves or?

sorry I had trouble logging in, workin on a 2005 f 150 5.4 190000 miles.
I can unplug 4 cops and the vct solonoids without any change to the way it runs.
I am leaning towards a pcm failure.
