Steering column- are these contacts? Where do they go? What even are they?

Hi there
I don't think my post a few minutes ago posted.
Weeks later, I finally managed to replace the actuator rod and the key lock cylinder on my F-250 1987 6.9 L Diesel. I'm putting it all back together, and I have no idea what these are. Are they contacts? Do they go across those gold colored things? Where do I put them? How do they stay from falling out again? What even are they? Help? Thanks!

Well, unfortunately, all images and tutorials and manual tear downs I find show replacing the WHOLE turn signal assembly. I didn't have to take it apart, but, I didn't know that at the time. So now I can simply put the little screw back in it, but, where do the little shims go> they must bridge across to make contact between those gold things...

You may have to go buy a switch tear it apart see where they go, put it back together without breaking it or getting dirty and take back,

I believe those are the springs that make it return to center. I think they lay in there sideways.
