1964 f-100 smaller carb

hello, I just bought my ford and it has a 750 carb I believe on my 308

engine. it spits a lot, and im trying to find something more efficient for the

motor. I want something that will be more fuel efficient. what do you

recommend?

A 308 is not a stock engine, so it is hard to say. Typically on a smaller displacement engine like that which is neither modified nor some high performance factory engine, 400-500cfm will work well.

That is the second time a reference has been made to a 308 engine. ND seemed to know of that size in a Hudson Hornet.

Some people call out an engine size by what it is after bore and possibly stroke changes from stock, but that's usually confusing if there is no reference as to how the motor originally came from the factory.

I wonder if it is an I-6 out of a Hudson?

If it's from a Hudson, it's a flathead 6. This engine dominated NASCAR 1952/54 .. cars were known as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet.
