Nope, I've been working of vehicles since my teens and have never had a "done" car. I have auto a.d.d really bad, when I get some money I get another vehicle instead of putting said money into the current project. All I know is that I'll have plenty to work on well into retirement, plenty of parts to do it with and plenty of tools to make it happen (I do almost all my own work).......now all I need is a bigger place to bring it all together .

I love this disease.........

Like they said in one of the movies...Batman would be nothing without the Joker. My truck has kicked me in the nuts every day for two years. Your truck is great.

Seems like the more I work on the truck, the more I find that needs to be done. I'm over 2 years into it, and I'm sure there are many more ahead before I am "done", but I will get there.

Now on the other hand is my poor Thunderbird. That car is never going to get done.

I'm in the middle of year three on my '49 F1 ("Storrs") I MIGHT get the engine started this spring yet, then I can start assembling sheet metal. Lot's of hard to come by $$$, but like many have said, it is a journey, to be hopefully enjoyed!

I Started my 56 Crew Cab build Oct 2011. I only get time to work on it on weekends that my buddy is around due to the fact its at his shop. Its a struggle, sometimes aggravating, and most of the time gratifying. I might only get one small project done over the course of a weekend, but I usually walk away happy that I made a small step toward completion.

Then in July of last year I picked up a 56 Coe and started another build while the crew cab build is still under way. The Coe is at my house. So I can at least work on it whenever I am home.

Now I have two money pits sucking me dry. But I wouldn't give up on either one.

Its a hobby. It keeps me out of trouble (when I'm not out causing hell in my other toys). And its a hobby my wife enjoys helping with when she has time.

Keep your priorities in focus. Chip away at it. Don't get overwhelmed.

You can't enjoy the destination if you don't like the journey. Perseverance and tenacity is the key. Mine - 10 years and 3,000 plus hours.

Worked on mine for 18 years as life allowed time to do it. Wore the back and legs out - drove it twice, sold it and bought a driver that only needs routine maintenance. Had a ball the whole time. Would do it again if health allowed. Don't get into this hobby (defined as obsession) unless you are in it for the long haul. Have fun

Mine's going on 15 years, as an off again on again project. Lately it's been off again. But this Summer, I plan to make it on again. Life has a way of getting in the way. I guess, in a nutshell, don't ever get discouraged and quit altogether.

Truck #1 was going great until body shop jail. I think I am going to have to go get the stuff and finish it myself.
Truck #2 worked on for a year, 85 percent done, but I am not happy with the engine, IMO too radical for a daily driver, and I drive my cars. Pushed it aside to decide what I am going to do next, but working on multiple car projects in the mean time.
I dont set deadlines, so I dont care if I push aside a project for a bit, if I am not excited to work on it can wait.

I have been working on my multiple trucks about 1 1/2 years. I had bought more trucks thinking i could use the best parts to get done faster but it doesn't work that way. I have had my sons working on them 4 days a week and repaired alot of the metal. I do notice a slowdown when i post on here and it dies without a comment. I tend to turn my attention to household chores but end up coming back in a week or so to help the boys. This forum makes a big difference in keeping your motivation high.

I think some take on to many projects at one time and tend to get over whelmed and not see the progress they intended why I think it's best to start and finish one at a time..
