Possible first 7.3 truck ill own

Hey everyone!
Brand new user here and I just want to start off by saying I know very little about the diesel game.
I wanted to get some info from everyone on what I should look for when shopping for a 7.3l
More specifically this guy right here:

http://www.tedsautos.com/mobile/mdet...?VID=262099345

It's a 1995 f250 powerstroke
I know that this is one of the best engines that fords engineered and I really want something that's gonna be reliable.

Thanks for the input everyone! I'm really just here to learn as much as I can. Might possibly be test driving this truck tomorrow too!

Looks like it is in good shape but also all stock. That is a lot of dough for that truck. Search this forum. There are a few lists of what to look for. I paid much less than that with less miles for a 4x4 f350 crew cab in California with an intercooler, downpipe and in excellent condition with no rust. Seems about 6k overpriced to me but I don't know that market.

That is a very nice clean looking truck, but I too think that is over priced.

Yea, I just looked at kbb and trade in is only like 5-6k o_o
Private seller is like 8500... Now this is for NE Ohio in the middle of the rust belt. The trucks spotless though when I last stopped and looked at it.
Ad says the whole engine was worked through, so we'll see what the specifics are tomorrow

With that low of mileage, there should be no reason for the engine to be gone through. These engines can easily run 500,000 miles with good maintenance.

That truck would be worth about 9-12k in Connecticut.

As Bill said there's no reason that motor should've already been gone through. If it has, you might want to start asking more questions.

Welcome to FTE
That price is steep man shop around, in my area a truck like that normally go between 3-5k even with that mileage. They are out there just got to expand your search.

I will say that price does seem quite a bit high for a standard cab 250. I bought my standard cab 350 stick for 4000$ with a 112k on it. Yes the body and interior and a few mechnical issues, but not 11,000 dollars worth. For that sort of coin a very nice no rust CC or extended cab with low miles can be found...

Look around. They are out there! Or go get that one and hopefully it is what it is!

https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5507637477.html still overpriced but at least you are getting a lot of extras with it... no rust here in CO

Shoot if you want a low mile 7.3 for close to that price here ya go! https://denver.craigslist.org/bfd/5516798795.html

:-)

I agree its high. The truck in my signature I got for just under 12K, he started out at 15K. No rust, from Michigan but never driven in the winter.
