Mystery loose connect - what is it?

I just noticed wires with a grey connector attached are hanging down from underneath the dash along side my trailer brake. It doesn't seem to be associated with the brake and there is black electrical tape on the connector so I'm sure it's been attached to something at some point. Any ideas, picture attached.

How many wires/terminals, and what color wires?

Automatic or manual transmission?

I found one of those when I first got my truck. I thought hmm this must go here. So I plugged it in with the keys in the ignition and my head under the dash to see. It was the key/door buzzer thing!! Made me flinch and bash my head into the dash!! needless to say it was all for nothing, left that dang thing unplugged.

First thing I do when I get a PSD! Just don't forget and leave your lights on.

You can just bend the tab for the "key in ignition" on the chime switch, and you will still have the chime for the headlight switch. It is position #4, black with pink wire.

away from truck

Thanks for all of the good info and guesses. I have been away from the truck but should be able to get back to it today in order to determine wire colors and answer some of your other questions in order to determine what this might be.

Ok, back home with truck

Just went out and looked again. The wires running from the connector are white with thin black stripe, grey, grey and black. Truck does not have a seat belt warning alarm. Could this be it? Hate to have a loose connector that I don't know what it goes to.

Thanks

Robert
