17 is a fuse, K is the relay I was talking about.
17 is the fuse that powers the fuel pump relay (K).
So same difference basically.
It's not going to run without fuel.
Thieves suck.

Install a hidden switch
don't use a fuse, a good thief will figure it out quickly
why?
because that is what most do, it's too simple

wire up hidden pressure switch switch and a relay to open a wire that is hidden too.
when I say hidden, I mean something like under a panel that you just hit and then hit again to turn it off
Hidden toggles are too easy to find

I've used something like these in the past

Tell him to reach behind the air filter box and disconnect the coil wire at the distributor. Most thieves are opportunists, they're not going to spend 20 minutes trying to start anything. They want to jump in fire it up and get the hell outta Dodge.

Ford Modular engines don't have a distributor.

Vettex, I like your idea a lot! Brilliant.
I will try to install something like you suggest. Very good insight, great suggestion.

Just take computer out and with you. That's what I used to do with a Chevy pickup I had in 98

Thanks Skip.
I could do that... isn't that sort of wedged in the firewall partly in engine bay and partly under dash inside? Is it just three connectors to release and pull it out or are there screwed in brackets too?

There is a box there too. Not quite sure what that one is but I have seen that one too.
There is a larger computer unit exposed under and behind the steering column. That's the main computer / ECU / PCM whatever it's called afaik.

Well... circa pre 1973 / '74 (pre emissions era) they didnt need things like that.
But even with carbs as opposed to FI, they have trim sensors and 02 sensors and things like that.
So that is probably something to do with that and / or CEL / MIL / Check Engine Light emissions OBD I stuff.
