Haven't done much this summer on the old girl (too many projects around the house). Been accumulating some parts over the past few months, in preparation for this winters little refresh.

I have had some time to work on the new rear axle, which is an 8.8 from a 97 explorer. Has 3.73 gears and a LSD from the factory. I am rebuilding it, and here is a progress pic...would have had it back together but ordered the wrong powerstop discs and pads, so have to exchange those.

Also found these wheels on a FB sale forum in my area...Picked them up for $180. They aren't perfect and not exactly what I ultimately want on the truck but they will fit the new CV front and explorer rear, and aren't half bad looking.

My .02 Keep the NASCAR looking wheels and paint the bumper and dash a silver colour. Cheaper than chrome but will shiny it up nice. If your dash is aluminum you can polish it shinier than chrome. Nice truck and welcome aboard

I was thinking of painting my dash white or like an antique white, maybe doing the same for the grill, just to break up the teal a little. This winter I am going to really lower it on airbags, so I need some bigger wheels...those 15's just aren't big enough. These new 17's might not be either, but I guess we will see.

Dude, looks like a fun project!!! I just finished my Crown Vic front end with RideTech coil overs and it rides like a dream! You won't believe the difference once you've made the change over. Good luck with project!!
