Tail lights always on 1989 F-250

I have a 1989 F-250 7.5 and the tail lights are always on, it never used to do it before, I don't know why it started recently. I have unplugged the brake controller (could be messed up anyway), unplugged the trailer tow relay changed the brake light switch on the pedal. They are not the factory lights however because the truck has a utility box with LEDs. This is mainly a
problem because it will not let my cruise come on. Forgot to mention before this started the cruise would work but if you hit a bump the cruise would kick off.

LED's are known to cause strange problems, especially, but not limited to, automatics. There is an in-line resistor that can be added to solve this kind of problem. It mimics the resistance of an incandescent bulb.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the brake lights coming on kick the cruise off? If so the cruise was working a few weeks ago.

I am going to get a new ignition switch because I have no accessory position on my radio, after that I will probably get a new brake light switch
