my 2016 6.2 is whining all the time
I noticed my truck makes a high pitched whining noise. It does it at idle and while acceleration up to 40 mph or so. The pitch of the wine increases with RPM'S.
It is not the cold start whine issue I have researched on YouTube.
It is in the cold or warmth. No difference. It's always there. My 2012 6.2 did not sound like this at all.
Does anyone have this same noise?
I have crawled under the truck and it appears like it is coming from the transmission. Any help or comments would be great. Thanks!

You're well still well covered by the drive-train warranty. Id suggest getting it in to a reputable dealer service for a look and to get it on record. A whining transmission could be anything from a bad pump, bad converter, bad torrington bearing or thrust surface etc...Did you check the fluid level per the operators manual? That'd be the first thing to do.

Similar Problem
I have a 2015 f250 super duty 6.2L 4x4 with almost 50,000 mile and started an whining noise at 45 to 60 mph. it dosnt flux with rpm. It does it with or without AC on and does it when you make it down shift or just cruz as long as it is in the 45 to 60 mph range but not really if you are accelerating up quickly. With my head out window and my best friend out passenger window we both hear it up front coming from underneath. Driving me crazy!!

Any luck with your issue? I have a brand new F-350 which only whines right about 2000 RPMs and only if I'm in a high gear under some load. If I'm in a lower gear at the same RPMs it's fine. I should probably find some time to take it to the dealer, but I'm new to SDs so not sure if it's a normal thing?

I had it looked at by dealer. They say normal. I'm not worried about it. Truck tows great. Performs great. The noise seems like it diminishes with warmer temp outside. Also, I only keep my trucks 2 years then on to the next one. With this in mind, I stopped worrying about "odd" noises and such related to my vehicles.

Problem solved
I have a 2017 f250 6.2 with a 6R100 transmission. I change the fluid every 30k. I noticed the drain plug was dripping so I ordered a new pan and plug. The new pan had the drain in the lowest part of the pan (the sump) with a magnet around the drain plug. I replaced the filter and filled her up. The truck made whining noise on acceleration. I took the pan down and noticed the oil pickup on the bottom of the new filter was stuck to the magnet, blocking the flow of oil out of the sump. I removed the magnet and no more noise. It usually makes sense to have a magnet in the lowest point but not this time.
