CRAIGSLIST FIND '59 4X4

It is a 59, and yes I know I am in the 61-66 forum, however I found this truck on Craigslist...says $2500.00. Seems a bit rough but I kinda like it. Would be cool to leave it as is other then the mechanical and what not..
Yea I know, is it worth it to whom may want it, What shape is the floors..ect. But if we say it is pretty clean other then what the owner is saying....From what is seen, is it worth it?
I need another project like a hole in the head...

Too bad there isn't a separate breakout of 2WD versus 4WD production figures, but in 1959 F250 Styleside pickup there were 16,491 units made.

The 4x4 models have to be very rare. I would check things out to make sure it is a factory 4x4 before pulling the trigger if that's what you'd be after. VIN number should tell part of the tale.

Cool truck even if it is a conversion. The front bumper looks like it's weighing it down some.

Yes, I am going to call him for the vin and have you guys run it to see.
Yea I think it would be a cool set up once performing properly. I will also get some detail as to running shape. He says it needs to be transported via car hauler. After driving my '64 home, I would definitely trailer it.
Front bumper weights as much as the truck.lol.
Will advise.

1959/60: The VIN does not decode to 4WD / The SERIES code (1st 3 digits of the VIN) is the same for both.

The MODEL code stamped on the Warranty Plate is the only way to define 2WD from 4WD

I did say it would tell part of the tale, not that it would decode to 4WD, but point taken. What ^^ he said.

You'll want to look to see if the CL truck has gussets that were added to the 4x4 cabs to stiffen the assembly. Stu

FIRST, Thanks to all whom have given me some things to look at and to I.D. If and when I check it out, will be the weekend.
I was told he was not able to find the warranty plate....But I don't know if he knew what to look for or where. I told him on the drivers door and he said he would check into it in the a.m. I will make sure I post it IF he finds it.

Warranty Plate either riveted to the inside of the glove box door or to the left (drivers side) A pillar (aka windshield post) visible when the door is opened.

No Warranty Plate was riveted to the left (drivers side) door face prior to 1963.

ND, This is what I like about FTE, ya always learn something new. Thank you for that info, however it seems he cannot find the warranty tag, not to be found. SO I think I may think about it a bit and I may set up a time to go look it over. If I do, I will let you guys know what I find out.

A common thing for sellers of that style is to switch the glovebox to correspond with the VIN # on the title. Not everyone thinks to look on the frame to see if it matches or not. But that truck has the original "innie" wheels so I'm thinking it's likely the original frame.
