Where did you mount your cb radio?

I recently bought one for an upcoming trip to Florida. Mine will only be used on the annual vacation so I bought a hand held with a plug in microphone that also doubles as a speaker, similar to what you see police on TV have clipped to their shirts. Bought a short magnet mount antenna along with it.

on my 2000, I mounted mine vertically on the front of the counsel between the front seats. The front tray on the counsel pops off and I cut out the bottom to allow the cb to go through. There was still room on the bottom tray for stuff. You could see the face of the cb real easy and hear it fine, yet the cb was totally out of the way. When my 2016 is delivered. I am thinking of mounting it on the side of the counsel as the counsel goes out farther than the one in the 2000. My cb is a RadioShack marine radio that is fairly compact. Still works great after 16 years. There was power under the front sear for the power seats that I used. Was planning on making a nice antenna mount but never got to that. Had a cheapy magnetic mount that I used. Guess the nice antenna mount can be made for the new truck!

With my 2006 (40/20/40 front seat), there's plenty of flat space on the lower dash. Mine is simply mounted to the lower dash with my switches, light controllers, and scanner. Wires routed right under the dash, it makes for a good, functional install. (The wire coming out of the bag hook is an aux input for my radio, unrelated to the "control center")

I got one of these and ran the wires under my center console.

I got a stake mount, a 2 foot antenna, and a quick disconnect and placed the antenna in the stake pocket behind the driver.
I like the little all in one because I can bring the weather radio into the trailer when we camp.
