T18 clutch question, 460 swap project

I am working on doing a swap in my 69 f100 from a 390 to a 460. My question is what do I need to do to go with a hydraulic clutch for my t18 trans?

From what I see I need a mid 80s bellhousing for a t19 which all had hydraulic clutches. Since the t18 and t19 are practically the same I would assume the clutches should be interchangable, if so what do I need to do to make it work in my 69 truck?

So the 460 bell has a juice clutch set up, but it's an external slave cylinder, right?

The T18 should be the same input shaft as the T19. 1 1/16", 10 spline, 6 1/2" stick out from the face of the trans. And the trans to bell bolt pattern should be the same too, a "butterfly" rectangular pattern.

So, whatever clutch the 460 has should accept the T18.

The other part of this is adapting your mechanical clutch to hydraulic.

You could see if the mechanical linkage will work with the 460 set up once the slave cylinder is removed.

If that doesn't work, and you have to go hydraulic, maybe the master cylinder from the 460 truck will work with the clutch linkage etc in the truck. Some mix and match and adaptation will be required.

If that doesn't work, a hydraulic clutch/brake pedal set up from a hydraulic clutch truck might be adaptable to your truck. (big ? on that)

If that doesn't work, an aftermarket clutch master may have to be fitted to work your clutch.

I can't imagine this ground has not been covered before, so a little search and:

(look at the end of the post, there's a how-to)

There are a lot of aftermarket kits as well.

Hey thanks for the info. Sorry it took awhile to respond, I read it awhile back and then forgot to respond.

So to update on where I'm at, I ended up buying an 83 f250 from the junkyard for the flywheel and bellhousing and it had the engine and t19 trans so that's a bonus! The t19 is in better shape than my t18 so I'm going to use the t19. And converting to hydraulic clutch linkage doesn't look to difficult so I'm going to go that route. (Thanks for the link by the way!)

This is where I'm at for now. Can post an update later when I get progessed a bit further along.
