Guys,
On my '70's 460, the alternator gave out, so had to purchase a new one. Was thinking they were set up with a back cover for the wiring.? Old one did not have one and the new one did not come with it. I see a lot of them without. Seems I just remember, back in the day, they had a type of cover or something?
Not on the 460's I've had, although the "bat" terminal should have a rubber boot on it I think. I welded a steel watchband, while on my wrist, by reaching around the back of one without the boot. A lot of amps there.
A marine alternator will have a cover, I believe.
