Looking to buy a 2010 E-250

Good day,

I am currently looking at a 2010 E-250 extended cargo van 2010. The van has 190 000 miles(mostly highway) it has the 5.4 liter engine. It seem to be in good condition but I was wondering is there any weak point I should be aware of?

Thanks!

I bought the same year van with 180,000 on the clock, although it's got a 4.6 in it. The condition of the van is so good that the miles didn't scare me.

Hi Mathmatic, you might google "2010 ford 5.4 liter engine problems" to see what past owners of the 5.4 had to say. The cam phaser and spark plug replacement issues specifically. jim

By 2010 the entire Modular Motor series as installed in E-Series had the earlier years minor issues worked out. Whether good or bad our vans never received the more "hi-tech" versions of that motor family including 3 valve-per-cylinder heads. As such they're just about as reliable as one could hope for.

While I've purchased an E250 with just over 203K miles see if maintenance records are available, look for things like last spark plug change, transmissions and engine oil changes---those for me would be the best indicators of how well maintenance was maintained.

The aforementioned 203K miles van has been with me since 2006, over 276K miles now and it still runs great. Of course I do nearly every bit of maintenance which undoubtedly helps the longevity.
