Transmission Oil Cooler Lines

Transmission Oil Cooler Lines
Okay, so I'm not sure if this is in the right spot. If not, someone please let me know. I've searched for what I'm looking for, both here and on Google, and I'm just not finding the answers I'm looking for, so I hope someone can help.
2003 F350, 6.0/automatic. My transmission cooler line from the transmission to the remote oil filter has decided it's finally going to rust out from this lovely Michigan salt. I have the new lines, and I have everything loose...except for one of the quick-connect fittings at the remote oil filter. One of them will pop in and out easily without a tool (I'll get to this in a moment), the other will turn but won't release.
My questions are as follows:
1. how do I release this quick-connect fitting? I'm sure there's a tool I need, but every one I've seen doesn't look like it will fit.
2. Is the one quick-connect fitting that pops in and out easily going to be a problem? The old line does look worn, like it's been removed and reinstalled several times, but if the new line does this, I'm looking at a potential leak in the future that I don't want to deal with. I've seen that apparently it's hard to get new fittings, so I'd rather not replace something if I don't have to...and I'd really like to not replace the whole filter housing.
So yeah, if someone could get back to me soon, I'd love it. I really need to get this truck back together soon.
