Thinking of Getting a X

Hi Guys,

I am thinking of selling my F250 and getting an Excursion of the same year. Family is getting bigger and I need seating for six with 2 baby seats!

How nice is the third row and anyway to get headrests for it?

If anyone is interested in a swap, let me know.

My other crazy idea is to put in a seat between the captains chairs in my truck. I would also want a shoulder belt for the middle rear passenger. Might be cramped though.

The new Expedition XL is another option but does not seem as sweet as an Excursion.

All thoughts welcome...

there are plenty of people who have added headrests to the third row without breaking the bank. I regularly haul 6 with 4 being in child seats. For what it is and what I needed it for the excursion is the perfect vehicle for my family and needs. I would buy another for my wife if I could find a nice one locally with the V-8 or V-10 with 4x4 and everything else I've got. The expeditions XL are nice but they were very few and far between and honestly more than my diesel excursion with the same miles. Easy choice for me. Good luck

I would love if Ford brought the X back with the new 6.7 diesel in it. That said, my 6.0 has been very reliable and a lot of fun. I have gotten to know the engine well and I would be just as happy to stick with something I know. There are very few X's near me. I might have to go to TX to get a nice pretty low mi one.

Those rumors are very interesting. I would love one with a 6.7L. Hopefully they don't screw up the third row, like the escalade and co - folding seats are nice but if no one will ever want to sit there why bother.

Anyone heard these rumors from anywhere else?

Pretty sure my lariat front seats with the fold down middle front seat to exchange out the captains chairs in front will get you 6 seats. Only downside is my year to 2007 don't have centre headrests and shoulder belts, only lap belts in the middle seat, which is ok for chaired seats. You can get the seat anchors installed by ford too. I have them in the back as for a long time as had two car seats for a long time. If I was pulling a trailer, a diesel 6.0 Ex would be the way to go for sure.
