Dually tire pressures

Does anyone have an explanation to why the recommended tire pressures in a dually the fronts are 75psi and the rears 60psi? With a payload figure of 4995 I would think you'd want more pressure in those rears too. I know it's spread over 4 tires but still curious.

Any thoughts, opinions, all knowing answers?

The 2015 F350 placard for my dually shows 65psi in all positions regardless of payload.

My dually states 75psi front & 60psi rear also. I run 75psi all around.

I would say they recommend 75psi front & 60psi rear for best ride & drive quality, the 75 in the front for the weight of the engine (running 60 may result in wishy-washy steering), the 60 in the rear for a smoother ride (running 75 in the rear will result in a rougher ride), this is because the weight is spread over four tires instead of two.

I saw a section of the forum that was titled "ask ford engineering" or something like that....and of course..you couldn't post any questions...but this would be a good question to post in such an active section.
