Hello to all my friends here

Hello to all my friends. I just wanted to let everyone know I am alive and kicking. I realize that I have not posted in a long time. I am currently fooling around with a Android Chinese made head unit and Torque app on that. So far I am pleased with that effort but still working on it. Thanks to all who have posted info for that. I hope to give results when I get them. As for the truck, she has become a stinker even though she only has 71K on the clock. I will start by replacing the GPs since cycling the key seems to reduce the crappy smoke at startup. After that, well injector orings or cups. We shall see. If this does not cure my problem I will have to seriously have to consider destroking the truck. I have mentioned this before and I am not feeling fixing the 7.3 when a Cummins can go right in there. Of course I still have a diode tranny that I have to address. Nothing has changed with my ride except white smoke startups when it is cold.

Hey Brother! Good to hear from you. I haven't made it to the last 2 RRE's and don't know if you have been back there since I last saw you. I am planning to make the trip this year. I hope I get to see you this time around. I sold my truck about a year and a half ago. Only diesels I work on now are the big rigs, but I did help build a stout 4R100 for another member's 7.3 Excursion.

Mike, several times I have wondered what happened to you, glad to hear you are doing good because in our profession one never knows. Good luck on the truck.

At 71k I think you're a long way from actually needing to destroke it (unless you're running that old tune that seemed to be causing some issues back when you were more active here).

Good to hear from you. Interested to see what you figure out with the app thing.

Sadly enough I'm converting mine as well. It's not as cheap as I thought it would be. I'll have about 6K in it before its done.

Good to 'see' you again Mike.

Hey Ole buddy Mike. This is the first time I have visited the site in a long time and this ghost thread is the first one I see. Its good to see that all of you are still hanging in there. I have also missed the last few years of RRE. As most of you know I sold Big Red and jumped to the D-Max side. I have enjoyed building it over the last couple years and also have had good results. I still help some friends work on the 7.3 since I did learn alot about them and have a lot of spare parts.

Hey Mike.
Roland and Mary came by yesterday and eat lunch with us and had a good visit. He told me you posted and I had to get on here to see for myself.

My truck sits in my shop most of the time. I use it to pick up the grandkids after ball and track practice, but for the most part it just sits there looking good. I guess I should sell the thing.

Wow... It is so nice to see so many FTE brothers I haven't seen in a long time and really miss seeing your posts. I myself was MIA for almost a year.
Now I am getting back to my happy place.
Which is Blackie and the FTE brotherhood.
I too am actually hoping to make it to RRE this year by myself and I have my wife's blessings to go. So hopefully Blackie will be running well and that I can come up with some cash for fuel.

Rick did you really just say that....."I guess I should sell the thing."
Don't you let your truck hear you talk like that. LOL
