Wow, you are not timid about taking on an OEM C4 IFS install. I will be interested to see how this works out for you. Corvettes were designed to have the engine sit back in the chassis fully behind the rack & pinion...these IFSs have presented challenges when installed in non-vette applications. I have a lot of info on C4 IFS/IRS so if you need something feel free to contact me.

Here is wher the project slowed down a bit. I had to make a custom flywheel because i went with a 351 windsor i built into a 408 stroker but i wanted to use a tr 6060 6 speed manual transmission. Everyone said it couldnt be done. Well i used a 6 bolt aluminum mlywheel from a 4.6 modular and added my own 28 oz weight in the exact spot and used a twin disc clutch for a 4.6 and there ya have it. The bellhousing was a whole different story but i will get to that later.

I got the transmission bolted up after finding the correct throw out bearing clearance. It ended up needing two shims from steeda racing. I also used a steed a racing throw out bearing. The next challenge was the starter it has three bolts on modular engines unlike the older two bolt starters that came on the 351 w. The solution to this was notcing a small section out of the block on the motor to clear the third flange on the starter. This def took some time and patience.
