Early 99 Owners: Spider to Plenum Boots

This offer is to any of you who have an e99 that still has the stock spider and plenum. The truck must be listed in your signature.

I have a pair of used RiffRaff spider to plenum boots for the e99. They are red in color due to Clay not having any other color when I ordered them. The price (free) cannot get any lower than this for someone in The Brotherhood!

Please PM me if you are interested.

Ed, you are welcome.

Stewart. Thank you for understanding, your professionalism, and turning this around so that it could happen the way it was intended to originally.

Jaime, PM sent!

BillyBob, you are next in line if Jaime doesn't like the offer.

Sorry it has taken this long. Life happens

Plenum insert for E99

Has anyone tried to find or make a plenum insert sleeve for the E99, with the smaller (2") intake ? Riffraff offers the insert only for the L99 and up. I am not able to replace all the E99 parts needed to covert to the later plenums. It would be nice to use Tbolt clamps on those boots tho. Just thought I would ask, because it sounds like you all have E99 or earlier rigs. Thanks !

I would reinforce them from the outside. I think Riffraff said in the past they didn't make Early 99 ones because they are already so much smaller to neck them down more just reduces even more flow.

Diesel Site makes plenum inserts for the E99. I just installed them in my truck. I didn't have any problems but I figured it can't hurt. Actually since the E99 plenums are smaller I think they are actually stronger. Harder to deform.

That statement is true....but with a stock E99 with AB's you will never see or feel the difference. People say the problem with the E99 is the smaller turbo. I think the biggest issue is the smaller plenums. You can work with improving the E99 turbo to make it as good as a Late99 turbo. There are even companies that will machine the E99 4 bolt cover so you can use a 66mm wheel and turn it into a D66. But between the AB's and and the tiny plenums it is a mute point to try to get alot of HP out of a E99. I wish Clay would come up with some special plenum boots so you could install his billet plenums on a E99 set up. But I think it would also entail cutting the E99 lower spider down too.

Thanks Kuzz, that's good to hear that DieselSite has 'em for our trucks. I think you are right about them being stronger, mine haven't deformed. I also think that you are right about it not making any difference to change the plenums over. Until my AB's go south, or my little turbo grenades itself, nothing is gonna change. I can't see replacing a turbo, injectors (and cups and GPs and UVCHs, etc) and up pipes and (and and and !) then the plenums and boots, just to get a little more grunt out of her.
But, when I turn about 200K I will be doing new boots, and maybe a set of AD's , and a turbo kit (WWII or SPX), and want to be able to crank down on the new boots a bit. So I appreciate the heads up on DieselSite brother !
