Rough Idle AFTER Warm-Up - P1211 (Injector O-Rings?)
Rough Idle, Poor MPG,and No Power AFTER Warm Up.
Oil and Air Filter have 2000 miles, and appear ok. OilChanged every 3k.
IPR, ICP, and Harness replaced.
My thoughts areInjector O-Rings, BUT, I’d like to get some further comment…
Injector O-Rings…OR..Injectors!!....bigdifference in price is my reason for asking.
Startup - truck idles at 700 rpm, power seems ok.
IPR 13-14% Duty Cycle
ICP 500 – 610 psi, 0.93 Volts
After 10-15 minutes warm up/drive time the truckidles rough and causes P1211 onheavy acceleration.
No POWER, wants to down shift when towing (if O/D On), Poor MPG.
IPR Duty Cyclemax’d at 65% at ~ 60 mph, underacceleration.
ICP range from 2100– 2850 psi
Fuel Pressure 50 - 54 psi.
Auto Engenuity Tests Performed:
KOEO – Buzz Test -> PASSED
KOER – CCT – has 2 different readings..(ran 2 days ago andgot P0269, today 0275)
1st P0269 – Cylinder 3
2nd P0275 – Cylinder 5
Cylinder Contribution Tests show:
Cylinder 1 -> 0
Cylinder 2 -> 0
Cylinder 3 -> 0
Cylinder 4 -> 1.9%
Cylinder 5 -> 3.4 %
Cylinder 6 -> 0
Cylinder 7 -> 0
Cylinder 8 -> 6.1% ( may be ghostcode from CPS ?)

I had a similar issue with my 97 7.3. I thought it was the IPR or fuel system. Ended up being the cam position sensor. I like to always start with the easiest and least expensive things first. Wouldn't hurt to put in a new. If anything you'd still have a good spare. Then look at those IPR orings, fuel system, then injectors, finally compression...Just my 2 cents.

That's what I thought, so I rebuilt the IPR, the fuel system plumbing and then finally changed out the CPS and viola! That did it. I suspected the CPS the whole time but didn't think it would be temp related, but it was. If you do a few searches, you'll hear about a few others fixing this problem by changing the CPS. I hate just throwing parts at a problem, but it wouldn't hurt.

Ok..So I changed the CPS - nada
Changed the Oil - nada
Decided to go BACK and check brand new IPR and ICP...Bam!!.
The $#^% brand spanking new Motorcraft ICP was bad!!...causing the rough idle.
replaced and truck runs like a champ again.
ON A SIDENOTE: While backing out of the driveway I knocked over the 5 gal pail of used oil!..This day just keeps on getting better!! Now I'm using Oil Sorb and TSP to get it cleaned up. Any other ideas.....smdh!...

The oil is a minor mishap. About 2 years ago I was backing my 2008 Subaru Tribeca out of the garage and had not realized my mother parked her 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT 8 just behind it. I opened the garage door, started backing out and heard a loud "thud". I thought, well I must have left my roll away stool behind the Tribeca when I was cleaning it. As I reached down to shift it out of reverse to drive, I saw my mother's bright orange Challenger SRT 8 sitting there and then the full range of emotions came to me.
I had a good time taking the bumper skin off the Tribeca to bang back out and then replacing the left rear tail light. Her car did not come out of the battle quite as well. She had around $2,000 worth of damage and I no longer had any money left over from selling my 1992 Ford F-150.
So, the bucket of oil is just a small step in getting your truck fixed.
