7.3/SAS swap. (Converting to a 4x4)

I have a 92 Ford F-250 Custom with a 5.8W 5speed 2WD. How difficult would it be to swap the 5.8 with a 7.3 and convert it to a 4x4 solid axle? Is it even worth it?

I'd say it's probably not worth it. Either conversion (2WD to 4WD or gas to diesel) is probably borderline, and you should have a pretty good reason to do it that way rather than get a new truck. With both needing to be changed? Go out and get a diesel 4WD.

agreed. the cost to convert will be about the same or a little higher than if you were to find a decent diesel 4X4 after you source all the parts.

you will need frame modification. spring mounts. front cross member modifications. different front springs. larger radiator and radiator support. different electrical system, both in cab and in engine compartment. diesel engine. diesel trans. transfer case. transfer case mount. different trans/transfer case cross member. modified fuel lines. modified fuel tanks.
