Already installed Riffraff red boots i bought a while back and a rebuild turbo I had.
Bought another Torque converter from Torco, the one It has started growling @WOT and its not locking fully so before it breaks the tranny, im changing it.
Also my mpg is bad im only getting 14mpg hand calculated, 90% highway 10% city around 150 miles every day. Ebps and tube are good, no boost leaks either, I think it might be due to the tc not locking right and slipping some,@75Mph im at 2400rpm with 285-75r16 and 3.73 speedometer is dead on. But the injectors also have 383k and never been out. I have that famous cyl #8 cackle that started at 370k. O rings should be good no black fuel filter, or missing oil.
Any chance the injectors are giving me the bad mpg? My obs with 800k and bad engine gives me 16.5 mpg on the same route

I installed the new TC on friday, it kinda of worked but im having problems with it locking up on 3rd gear, I got to let go of the fuel pedal for it to actually lock?
If its like the e4od all brake lights work including the 3rd light on the roof. No codes, no OD flashing or any funny shiffting either(AE scanned) I did the test that Mark K. has mentioned before but it starts spinning the wheels at 1700 rpm? So is it electrical or mechanical? All electrical Plugs were cleaned when I removed the tranny but did not apply dioelectric grease good? bad?

Can't help with the transmission issues. But Platinum trucks are awesome. Been seeing one locally last couple weeks. Below is a 5.4 Platinum build thread from a couple years ago, maybe check it out when you get a chance.

Gave up took it to a tranny shop and what would you know the pump and valve body were full of clutch material, oddly enough the pan was clean as it could be? the magnet had some black crud but not enough to tell it was bad. He told me he could "band aid" the problem by installing a new tc (to insure its free of debree) the shift kit, and some upgraded internal parts but could not guarantee it would last (I believe him the tranny after all did have 388k) so I had a full rebuild with the "upgraded internal parts, shift kit, a twin disc tc, and a 6.0 transcooler all for a tune of $2100 which is not bad considering its a 4x4 and not to much down time. I get a 1year unlimited mile warranty which is OK could be better but since I do tow sometimes heavy and I can probably stack 30,000 miles this year which most warranty's will give a 3year 30k mile warranty. Time will tell if it lasts, the place is part of the BBB and has great reviews, most of which are from fast turnaround, customer service, and quality all of which I experienced
