E99 PCM Control Unit VCQ4 & Torque Pro?

I am looking at getting a tune and decided to pull my PCM to see what kind it was and on my E99 it turns out I have VCQ4. I was expecting to see an XLE4. Is there anything I should know about this?

I also have been working with Torque Pro all day and cannot get any of the PID's in Tugly's post to work, but did get the already installed PID's to work. Just can't do any of the custom ones like BARO, MAP, TFT, EBPV. I know I am entering them correctly. Could it be this PCM? Does any one with an E99 having trouble with the same PID's?

Here is a link with quick info on that PCM.

Here is a pic of my PCM number.

Now my E99 is the XLE4 and I have never heard of the VCQ4 ??
But is that another E99 pcm or is it a Late99 pcm ??
Hopefully someone that has a VCQ4 will weigh in. Someone has to be running this pcm with a tuner.

No, it's original with the truck... unless it has been changed out before I bought it with on 30K on the clock. I'm also at a lost and am wondering if that is why I can't load any custom PID'so from TP.

Yes. It's a 50 state E99 PCM.

I know we did some AE stuff on your truck, but I can't remember if we did some TP stuff or not.

Look at the setting on one of the PIDs that work, and write down the heading number. Enter that heading number on a custom PID and see how that works.

Sometimes when I was having problems setting up Torque I would have to completely disconnect the device (Android phone) and shut down TP and then restart it again after shutting down the truck and restarting it.

I managed to get all of the PID's working, but had some typo errors and connection issues at first.

Cody is correct. No one was doubting him any way..

Here is the corresponding line from my PCM list:

1999 VCQ4 9DTA-BEE DPC-412 F81F-DF 7.3L F-250/350 DIESEL - AUTO CAL COLD WTR VHAE9E2

The reason for my post.....: What is the difference between this DPC-412, a DPC-402, and a DPC-422?

I had not heard of it being compatible with the e99 either.

Hardware differences and processor differences.

Details not withstanding, there is a lot going on in each one you listed that won't work correctly in an interchange situation although a 402 can be used in place of a 412 all day long.

Should I get this PCM updated or leave it well alone?

Use it. It's an XLE4 designed to be used with a glow plug relay utilizing a bank-by-bank diagnosing strategy.
