2000 XLT OEM Fog light question
Can anyone tell me if a 2000 XLT would be pre-wired for the factory fog lights? I would like to install them including the factory switch in the cab, but if I don't have the factory wires, then I will just go without, or go for a separate switch and aftermarket fogs.
Thanks,
Kevin

I chose to use OEM fogs but an aftermarket switch mounted to the panel under the steering column. It powers a relay I added on the driver's side under the hood. Ford has provided a set of wires going from under the dash to under the hood making installs like this pretty easy if you choose the aftermarket wiring option.

Adding fogs to my 2000 has been on my To-Do list for awhile now. I just haven't found the time to do it yet.
Do you happen to have the wiring connector/pigtail for the new headlight switch w/fog? This will make things easier. The connectors on the 2000 and newer years with the fog lights are physically the same, but use different pinouts. Pins 2, 5, and 6 are missing on the 2000 connector/harness which can be added but it's much easier to use an existing connector/pigtail that is already wired for fogs.
Pin 12 (BROWN wire) on the 2000 headlight switch connector provides +12V when the headlights are turned on. Tap into this wire and connect to Pin 2 of the connector (Fog Light 12V INPUT). Pin 5 is the Fog Light 12V OUTPUT and this will connect to your relay which will power your fog lights. Pin 6 is for the Fog Light indicator light and connects to ground.
