96 steering wheel in 92 f150.

hey guys, has anyone put a 96 steering wheel into a 92 f150?

on the back of my 92 steering wheel i has 3 tracks that 3 pins ride in. and on the back of the 96 it dosent have this.

is there any way to make this steering wheel fit.

i do see 4 screws holding the 3 track base in. could i unbolt that and put it on the 96 steering wheel?

I'd guess that the three track has a feature that the two track doesn't. The tracks are spring loaded brushes one for horn, one for curse control and the other is likley for audio. So yes you can move the three track components over to the later wheel but keep in mind you also need to move the switches in the center of the older column. Replacing the brushes and track disk now while the wheel is off would be a good idea.

What engine was in the '96 truck? Do either/both trucks have an air bag?

What did you have to do? Always good to post not just your results, but how you got there. (Like they said in school, "show your work" )
