Running lights in the mirrors question

My 2011 has the turn signal lights in the mirrors but I noticed it does not have the running lights feature like I have seen on other 2011 and newer SD.

Mine does not have the roof top lights, so I do not know if that is the difference.

Is there any way to hook up the lights in my mirrors to be running lights as well as turn signals ?

There certainly should be. My 2011 has no roof lights but has mirror lights that are signals and running lights.

I wonder if I ripped a mirror off backing up is it designed to just destroy the mirror or will the door be damaged too. I hope I don't do something this dumb but I still worry about it

I wouldn't be surprised if it was burned out. I believe it is a 2 filament bulb so the turn signal may work but the running light may not. I am not sure which is which but it is easy to check.
Inside the truck use the **** to angle the mirror all the way up and towards the truck. This will expose a little tab you push with a screw driver to release the lens cover.
It's been a little while since I did mine so I may have missed a step but I would start there and see what's going on.
As far as damaging the door I'm not really sure what you're asking, the mirror would fold in either way. It would break the glass and plastic I guess if it was a really hard impact, but it's not going to affect anything else

I "lightly" tapped a mailbox with my passenger mirror. It just flipped in luckily without damage.

There are two bulbs per side. They are both 2825's.
