Post 1987 F-150 XLT Lariat project

Dear Friends,

last summer i bought myself an old truck that i fell in love with and am now planning to restore it slowly to its original beauty. I decided to post the progress here and reach out for help from you from time to time as i have never done anything like this before and am not familiar with trucks at all! A bit about myself: I grew up in Germany and moved around quite a bit after high school. I relocated to North Carolina in 2014 and am loving it so far!!! The weather is beautiful and ocean and mountains are close! Since i had a truck-less childhood, I am fascinated by trucks - especially the old ones and just had to get one. So last summer, i have bought this beauty. The photo below is the only one i have at the moment - I will post more soon! I would love to have some pointers as to where i should start with the restoration. Everything is working at the moment, but the suspension and the drive feels very wobbly and i am not sure how much of that is due to the age and how soft it was originally...

Looks like a beaut! I have a similar truck, although, not quite in as good of shape as yours!

Welcome to FTE, superspost!

That is a very interesting shade of blue. I don't think I have ever seen that shade before. I would like to see pictures of the interior.

It's actually Carolina Blue - the picture has a filter on it. I'll try to find to take a better one as soon as the weather gets a bit better!
