Sinopec Tulux T600 Synthetic Blend Oil ???????

Has anyone ever used this oil?

15W40 Synthetic Blend Diesel Engine Oil - 5Gal Pail Bucket ? BuySinopec.com

even though the price of crude has come down considerably, oil in the store seems to keep getting more expensive. have only been able to find a few reviews, and they are all good- but we all know about internet reviews.....

does anyone have any experience with this oil? we can get a really good deal on it and are considering using it. we have used rotella dino for years, but it is pushing $18/gallon these days.

talked with our buddy at oh-rye-lees, and he can let us have a 5 gallon bucket of their brand 15w-40 for ~$40 so we are contemplating between that or this sinpoec.

Are you talking just your truck, or a fleet? Myself, I'd stick to the tried and true. That's not to say something new and really good can't happen, BUT.

Thays what I use on the fleet, for the past 2year. Works great, except is not a syn blend just plain old dino.
Give it a try and do a black stone analysis.

In the link provided was some lab testing and a comparison chart. Overall it is slightly lower viscosity than the major brand dino oils, and within spec for all the ratings it carries. Kind of a rigged comparison, synthetic blend vs straight dinos, but that's sale literature for ya. A little lighter would be helpful in cold weather fwiw. I'd give it a whirl. My truck sure wishes I would, I'm overdue for an oil change.

On the other hand given the name and coloring my spidey-senses tell me it's from China, just FYI.

Looks like a fine garden variety API CJ-4 motor oil... nothing special but nothing too bad. Where do you live? How cold does it get? Looks comparable to any of the big oil brands.

No, Sinopec is a subsidiary of the Chinese government, with its corporate headquarters in Beijing. I'm sure it's fine oil though.

I'm not ready to run Chinese motor oil - given what they have put in their baby food in the past. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Chinese_milk_scandal

I would get Rotella at Walmart (cheaper than any chain place) and run it longer, according to what Blackstone tells you.
