That holds the lever to the brake shoe... the lever has a pin that goes through the shoe and that clip goes in the groove and gets bent together so it can't come off.
Your adjusting wheel and tin look wrong to me... this is how mine is put together:
Need to look at a diagram. The cable or arm needs to go the other way,the hook part of the arm is what holds the cable.The horse shoe looking thing is a clip/holder,slid it in and pinch the legs together.It is not for the cable.
We are working on a 3/4 ton truck (1976 F250 4WD), and the brakes are slightly different from 1/2 ton trucks. Based on the diagram I attached below, we wouldn't need that horseshoe clip then? The adjuster looks put together correctly also based on the diagram attached. Any word on how to attach cable to lever? Thanks for the replies.
Ok, we were wondering about the springs. We got new parking brake cables from AutoZone, and they have a spring on the end I thought went under the truck. We will try to flip the cables and see what happens. Thank you.
