I just checked Rockauto and they had a listing for a fuel pump for my 48 226. $34.89 plus shipping for an Airtex pump. What year did you check for?

I looked for a 51, since that's my truck year. No such animal for my 226, but I bet it's exactly the same pump as yours. Interesting, but not surprising.
Other vendors list their 226 fuel pumps as fitting 48-51. It might just be Rockauto's catalog info that's off.
Yes. I'm sure of it. That's not all they have listed incorrectly. I have found F1 parts listed for my F4 which are quite different. It just requires a bit more research to get their usually lower prices.
But this has been a learning experience for me. If I can't find something for my 51 F4 in the correct place, I'll look for earlier years and see if they have the part shown there. I could have saved on my fuel pump if I had known about this sooner.
