air over hydaulics

I installed a hydraulic hoist on my '77 C900. I want to operate the hoist using pneumatic controls. So I would need a pneumatic ram to engage/disengage the PTO. And a pneumatic ram that I could "feather" to operate the hydraulic pump. This just needs to push the pum

p control lever back and forth (up, down, middle).

I also need the hydaulic controls inside my cab.

I have tried the internet and found lots of controls, but not the rams. But I'm not sure which pieces/parts would work right for this application. I have also called many hydraulic / pneumatic parts retailers in the Boise, Idaho area but none understand what I'm trying to do.

Can anybody recommend a company that would know what I'm talking to and be able to help me assemble the parts I need?

Our rolloff truck is the way you describe. I would say the majority of newer dump trucks have a pto engaged by air. I would call Central hydraulics in St cloud Mn

the Williams WM-388 may be your ticket it's an air throttle combined with a modulating air control valve might be able to do the trick it doesn't have a lot of travel though there are other that might have more travel 117888 by WILLIAMS CONTROLS - WM-388-U1C1D CYLINDER

Call me silly but this seems like an expensive way to do the job when cables work just fine if installed correctly. ymmv.....

Found a nifty air valve system on EBay with a PTO engage valve and a separate valve to run the pump lever up & down. Bought pneumatic cylinders from Automation Direct along with all 1/8" air hoses and parts. Built brackets and levers and all is working well. Now i'll take it apart again, do final tune and painting and put it together. Will post pictures when i'm done. Agree that cables would have been cheaper and easier, but air over hydraulics is cool.

I have had both cable and air controls. I vote for air, in the long term it is more reliable. No sticking/jamming, less wear.
