Question 2005 transfer case electric shift & little engine problem

Hi guys, I'm new here, and I have to give you a little background of what I get.
I'm from Poland, EU, I've bought a 2005 5.4 F150 from 3rd owner here in Poland at very special price.
So, there are 3 problems.
1st - here, in Poland we really have to rely on the internet, get all the knowledge from forum like this or from youtube, because we don't have a serious service of full size Ford pickups. We can only buy little european cars, and whole ford dealership net have no clue of big brothers from US.
2nd - to be honest, I have no experience in repairing ANY cars, including european, but I know how to handle a hammer or screwdriver and I can do little fix if someone give me advice.
3rd - all that mechanical terminology is completely new for me, and sometimes I have to think 5 times, what the hell means CEL abbreviation, despite I've read that milion times.

Previous owner doesn't know what's wrong with the truck, it goes like a crap, just like a grandmother on a wheelchair, and I get extra bonus - during my tests it appears, that 4x4 lo doesn't engage at all.

So, I have two questions, and it would be really nice, if some of you guys tell me in very simple words... like you were talking to real dumb, you now

I remove the transfer case shift motor from the truck and, after doing this, the first thought was, that these two little cut cables might do the thing.

transfer case shift motor
brown and black ones cut just like that.

I watched
and heard, that they goes to 'another sensor' - what is that sensor? What does it do? And - is it crucial to engage 4x4lo? Can this make the trouble?

Then I remove the plate with warning, and everything seems good inside, clean and nice.

And the second question is widely discussed here: P0345 and P0349 Camshaft Position Sensor 'A' there are numbers of possible causes, but my question is: is it safe to disengage this sensor for, let's say 2-3 weeks? Or both of them? And (silly, I know) if I stay in front of a truck, which side is 'A' left? right? Does disengagement give me some better responsiveness from the engine?

I mean truck now goes like crap but I've to drive the car for a while, before I can get parts from US.

I really hope you understand my english
best regards from Poland
Przemek (that's my name - I know, it's impossible to pronounce this )
