The performance of the f150 limited on the sand dunes

Good Morning / Afternoon Every body,

I am thinking about buying the new f150 limited truck. My only concern is how is the performance of the truck over the sand dunes. especially with the 22 inch rims.

Thank you all and best regards

Welcome sir!

With the correct tires I can't imagine that you'll be disappointed.

Welcome! By sand dunes, I reckon you'd be meaning as in desert sands? That's pretty loose sand I would think. Anyway, in all my days of being stuck, sand has been about the worst. And, not many trees to use a winch on either!

At the Oregon dunes the patrol run Raptors. They go everywhere and look impressive out there. The 22" wheels are not what you want on the sand. The best setup is 17 or 18" wheels with largest tires you want to run on them. You need the sidewall so you can run 10 psi and allow the tires to "float", at least that is what it takes to get around on our dunes. I tow my toyhauler on the sand, and on my last F150 I ran 285/70/17's. I want the best possible performance on the sand because I don't like getting stuck....
Raptors have the 315/70/17's

Thank you for your reply, this is what i wanted to hear. So i am so confused between the f150 limited an the f150 lariat. I live in the Arabian Gulf area where the sand is everywhere.

I love how the f150 limited is so luxuries but also it is so nessesary to have offroad truck with the ability to move over the loose sand.

can i have the limited with 18" rims

yeah, the sand is the worst but at the same time it is so fun to ride the sand dunes with the correct vehicle. Here in the market there are limited number of vehicles with the ability to move over the loose sand. they are SUV vehicles .

That sounds like a lot of fun! I wish I had a good answer for you, but I would think that if a SUV could handle it, surely a properly equipped F150 would do the job. Keep us posted, and let us know what you get - with photos, please!

Just get the limited you want and you can get different wheels/tires to fit your offroad driving. Your stock wheels and tires should be worth a decent amount in return.

The truck will do fine in the sand, you may mar the 22" rims, but as long as you aren't running the Dakar Rally and run tires that aren't aggressive, you'll be okay. My suggestion is to take a ride around before you purchase and see what the local folks are running.....
