ok so I looked last night and there is not a drain way on either shock mount..

there is a weep hole in the part but that's all I could see maybe im just not under standing...

Ha YOU decided to eat a ELEPHANT, not a big mac. It is going to take some time, but you can do it. One bite at a time.

Complete other tasks like hardware organization, wiring bundle clean up, cruise thru your stack of free Ford truck catalogs and see what needs ordered. Stay motivated, no matter what!

I will try to get a pic for you tonight.

those axels that are in the back round of the picture is my next step..

I think ill start getting them ready for sand blasting tonight..

current plan for the week is:

Axels, remaining leafs ready to sand blast...

this weekend, I want to base coat the axels and remaining leafs..
and top coat all the parts I have posted above..

I really want to get the truck back on its feet by the months end..

and that picture will be helpful...

one last thing... I need some major help. I have plans on getting the old lady some roses and chocolate for vday but I think I should get her more...
I find if I make her happy my truck progress is a little smoother..

Roses sent to her work is always a good thing, chocolate and a card when she gets home and then take here to dinner (where she wants to go). And give her about anything from Zales, Helzsburg ect... I am not talking a $5000 ring, but a nice reminder that she is the one for you. Earings, necklace, bracelet at least one nice item. Bottom line, just spend that one day with here instead of working on the truck. I know it is hard to do but, in the end it is worth it. It's that simple.

Holy crap do I sound like a love struck retard spouting all that BS. lol

Take her to a Sonic, take her mudding, go shoot some guns, maybe buy her one? Or get her a new socket set. There that is better. lol

I use it for my every day use and I can say I enjoyed my 2004 silverado much more.

My sister has the same truck and here engine is under powered to..

Oh and anything under 2004 has regular spark plugs.. alot of people think all 5.4 have the spark plug problem but that didn't come about until the 3v newer 5.4

Oh and I also had to change the tranny at 160,000 miles... the tranny leaked out the front seal and the previous owner must have figured out that if you run it out of fluid it stops leaking.. my sisters has 180,000 factory tranny and it runs strong!
Thanks, Scott - much appreciated.

Parts hoarding 101 AKA "Fording", DO NOT EVER GET RID OF ANYTHING! Look at what I found in my parts stash...

I know I have seen a groove in a shock mount, some where, some time.

So take the one in the pic and make it the passenger side, with the fwd tilt and grind on what would be the bottom side and make a little flow channel.

PM sent.

progress for 2/9/16

ok so I got por15 primer on some parts
and sorted bolts all up in cans..
made it a short night!

looks like ill have to start fording a little more...

I probably have enough parts to build like 4 1980's f150's and broncos..
I've just got very few older trucks and the salvage yards all got rid of there old stuff..

Ok so im going to need some help with my next bit...
I need to figure out what tranny to use behind this cummins...

I don't want to spend more money than I have to but at the same time I don't want to do all this work to watch it fall apart..

I can get a dodge 518 that is in perfect running condition for 300 bucks

I just did a auto to manual swap for my buddy...

the positives to this is the tranny is cheap and comes with everything I need to hook it up.. it also will work with my ford transform case without any custom work..

problem with it is it will not hold up long to the 400hp I want and it does not have lockup..

I have to go auto per Faith's wishes...

Possible trannys I have thought of..
518A - the one mentioned above
46re - same as the 518A with lock up and would require a controller.
thought about the ford 5r110 - would be great but would require tranny controller and probably cost a lot of money..

im open to all suggestions! im sure there may be better trannies I didn't even mention... I want OD and would like to have lock up..
if I don't have lock up ill just go with the 518

Any thoughts

Great build, I'm enjoying watching this! Just wondering, is that exhaust off of a newer duramax? I can't tell if that has the DPF filter on it or not. If it does (since I'm sure you won't DPF your truck lol) you can sell that filter to a company online for a pretty good chunk of money. They even pay shipping. Just wanted to let you know. Your gonna have a sharp truck when you get done!!

Good deal. Go to this site http://www.sellyourcatsdirect.com/dpf-systems/#duramax

I sold the dpf off my buddies cummins a couple years ago. They sent him a check about a week later for $500!! The duramax systems are worth a little less. And the fords even less than that. But with a $35 investment you still stand to make a good deal of money!!
