The throttle solenoid on my '77 F250 (351M) is disconnected. After reading many old posts, I have basic understanding of what its function is. However, I am unable to find where the single electrical lead coming off of it, is supposed to connect to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Some of them were connected to the AC clutch circuit to provide a higher idle when the AC compressor is running. Others were connected to 12V from the ignition switch RUN position to provide a anti-dieseling function for smogged out vehicles.
On my '79 I had to remove the old connector that also had a lead for the choke. The anti-diesel solenoid will be 12V with key on while the choke is around 5V with motor running. Should be along firewall where you'd expect it to be.
