Backing up in the campground

That's what I've heard, the only reason divorce is so expensive is because it's worth it. I don't know about that, I haven't divorced My first wife yet, and I don't currently plan on it. Sometimes, I wish i could divorce my kids though.

Check the sectional chart for ground elevation........descend to 200 ft above the deck......turn on the landing light....If you don't like what you see, Turn off the landing light.

The medical helicopter annoyed me one night. Was trying to grab a blood pressure when the bird is on final approach right over the top of me. I lost the pressure and had to start again.
They were the same clouds who want to land on the highway and take 45 minutes to play doctor while traffic is stopped. Screw that, set it on the median crossover and I'll keep a lane each way open.

I think I'll try the walkie talkie toute this year along with a 5er mounted camera. What I wont try again is a new wife. The current one I chased and chased until she caught me over 25 years ago and she is just fine, thank you. But she cannot figure out how to direct me backing our RV. The last wife ---------

I am average at backing a trailer... and try to avoid commenting on how other do it...
BUT,
last month,, a New DP Motorhome.. about 40 feet... took 7 tries to backup into a site... and it was a straight shot it.
but it was 11 oclock at night.. and had lots of room on both sides.
the next morning they asked for a drive-thru site..

I prefer to make fun of myself rather than others and there is plenty there to make fun of.
I think backing is more a matter of practice. If you stop to think about how little backing the average RVer does with their towable, it is easy to understand why there are lots of mistakes.
Then there are the campgrounds that seem like they are trying to compete with the airlines to find the way to pack the most people into the least space. One of the campgrounds we looked at while in Florida advertised they would park your camper for you, often when it was unhitched using their tractor. In another, I got a different space saying the only way my combo would fit where I was sent was if they had a helicopter to drop the fiver into the slot.
If you think about it, don't all of us have a skill that others less trained would have a hard time matching? In my opinion, backing is just one of those.

Alaska 2015.....Was backing out of a Fresh (new) driveway.....Got too close to the shoulder (about 6").....The driveway collapsed......had to make a quick, sharp turn to the right while pulling forward in 4wd.......Kept the truck from rolling on it's side........
Next.......all hell broke loose
With a little tug.....we were out of the ditch......
This is what it looked like backing out........

Thanks........
The event was short lived and exciting. The 5th wheel tires were on solid ground......but the port-rear side of the truck dropped like a rock as the road bed gave away......thinking the best way to prevent a roll......was to turn right...hit 4wd...and ease in the power. She spun toward the right and stopped nose up and stable......
The only damage was the the bed rail....starboard side....where the trailer hit it.
All fixed when we got back home.
I have backed this rig down long roads and into camping spots that it "couldn't be done".......But, there is always a time when it is my turn to be embarrassed......
