If they bolt up in the factory holes and are the right size then 53-55 running board brackets would work too. Thanks.

Only difference in the frame rails as far as I know is the placement for the rear leaf spring hanger brackets, 53 and 54 had shorter springs than the 55 and 56 all other holes should be identical. I'll be corrected if wrong..

Looking for a set of approximately 1960 styled valve covers for a 302. Really want to make the motor look like a cheap old hot rodded FE from back in the day, rather than the 90's style look it has going on right now.

Those pictured things are supposedly a dealer (not factory) option from '57-'65 for the FE. If anyone knows of something similar aftermarket for a 302 style, i'd love to know about it. All i can find is wannabe shelby ribbed nonsense.

The early 289 short style valve covers are reproduced, and relatively inexpensive. Here's one source. They are Scott Drake parts and will be available from most any Mustang parts outlet.

They're also available in chrome if you prefer.

CRS I think my 58 410 valve covers said "E475" on them. And the 361 covers "E400" . Both indicating ft. pounds of torque. I know a guy back in NY who might have something.

Sorry, but i'm specifically looking for that particular minimalst "FORD" script style, or something similar. The covers i have on there are already almost exactly that repro set already. I'm trying trying to give the impression that my truck was a hot rod from the 60's where they took the hot new motor from the thunderbird or something and slapped it in. Plus i'm a sucker for that late 50's, early 60's design, it just fits so well.

Again, they also came in thunderbird and mercury versions, but i'm almost strictly hoping to find a Ford version for sale. I thought the odds were long, was just hoping someone might know of them being repro'd somewhere. I could get an original set with some cover adaptors but that'd be a little more down the line for how much that'd cost.
