2003 F-150 Headlight Swap

2003 F-150 Headlight Swap
I am about to invest in a headlight conversion for my 2003 Regular Cab Flairside Pickup and have a few questions about a headlight swap. I am interested in the Harley Davidson Headlights as they appear to be clear and much brighter than my stock lights. Also intend on upgrading the bulbs. Harley head and side lights remain available from Ford, although at a premium price, which is not a game killer. Ford OEM Harley and Lightning head and side lights are glass, not plastic, as I understand it. They hold up much better than aftermarket units.
Does anyone know which lights, Harley Davidson or Lightning, produce the best light, given the same bulbs in each? I like the look of the Harley Lights better than the Lightning lights and know that both will work.
Any experiences with this sort of swap would be much appreciated. Thanks, Rooster403

Where did you hear that they were glass? I have never heard that.
I know my neighbors '01 Lightning had OEM plastic.
The output between Harley and Lightning is identical. They are the exact same light, just the Harley has a part of the housing that has nothing to do with light output painted black.
Even standard halogen bulbs have great output with either housing.
This picis from some e-bay Harley housings with some old Sylvania Cool Blue headlights.
If you want the best light though, look into doing a HID retrofit (DO NOT put PnP HID's in halogen housings, you will just blind everyone and have less light than halogen).

Cancel the order as fast as you can if you can. Those are horrible housings.
They have terrible light output (and even worse since you got tinted lenses) they leak, the LED's and halo's burn out quickly, have poor fit and are just crappy lights.
Search here or other forums about Spyder lights.

Wow thanks guys, I did not even consider checking here for opinions ue to thinking this a mere cosmetic add-on. I don't drive it much at all, it was my fathers and I got it when he passed. It was/is in pristine condition with 73K on the clock. I have done a few things to it like re-set the front windshield, replaced the back slider, performed the thru the glovebox blend door replacement an pretty much replaced everything that was rubber. Have been offered more than BB value for it by several people who know the history of the truck, but just can't seem to let it go, despite the fact it is one of 4 trucks and 3 autos I keep paying taxes and insurance on every year. sheeesh I will cancel this order an if it's to late I return them, and do some sleuthing before moving ahead with my black out plans.
