59 F100 on American Restoration

Did anyone see that last night? Was it just me or did a 2wd turn into a 4x4. The stance of the white truck was 2wd all the way through the show, then it was a 4x4 when it was done. And not to be nipicky but I'm pretty sure they never came with body colored wheels, or hubcaps, correct me if I'm wrong.
Pretty reminiscent of the old American restoration, a lot of ripping apart and grinding, then it's finished. And when he said $90,000 I about fell over, and some collector paid $75,00 for it??? Wowza

I watched it. Yeah, turned into a 4wd. Do you think they really sold it for $75k? That's hard to believe. Nice truck though.

That episode felt so faked. I though the 1st 2wd truck was a short box too. Then they talked at the end of show about the original **** for the t-case. How could it be original if it was 2wd?

Isn't it all about selling advertising in betweens the bits of the show that they let you see?

I watched it again last night since I have it on the DVR. First truck was a 2WD. There are pictures of the frame and axles with the no body. Absolutely a 2WD. The **** part was BS. I am not even sure it is the same truck. I also question his comment about that being an original color.

How true LOL. If I couldn't stream Netflix and such I would just quit watching TV. And most reality shows are anything but reality..

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that seen that. Agree the first was a 2wd short box. I think they must have just found a 59 F100 4x4 that was already restored and showed it at the end and tried to play it off as the same truck. Iirc they did not show it being painted. The transfer case shift **** did not surprise me either. They do not repop the white t-case shift *****. Its odd that they didnt make it look better though. And the first guy coughs up 75K ? Yea right!

Here's my scenario. The buyer already owned the restored truck, since everything else was fake anyway.

The idiots told the buyer (who they claimed was a Ford truck expert ) that the hubcaps were factory originals. BS!

They installed repro 1948/56 F100 innie caps (6A-1130-A), drilled holes in the front caps for the 4WD front hubs to poke thru.

The so-called 'expert' buyer believed this BS!

No F100 4WD had front hubcaps until 1977, no F250 4WD had them until 1984.
