Fuel in coolant ?

Hello, my friend has an F450 with the 6.0, and discovered fuel in his coolant. I have the 7.3 in my truck, and know next to nothing about the 6.0. Can bad Injector sleeves cause this ? Is that the same as "seats" ? I am not up on my terminology. He thinks he needs new heads for his truck, but I don't agree. Any advice on this is welcome. He is a good, hard- working guy, I am just trying to save him a pile of money. Thanks again guys !

Cracked head

OK thanks. This is just a work truck, no tune it mods. How could he crack a head during normal use ? He rarely even tows with it. I don't have any knowledge about the 6.0 PS. Is this a common problem ?

Things happen. Overheated, maybe. Or a bad casting. Regardless of how it happened, it should be looked at. Needs to be tore down anyways to look around so have the heads checked, all 6.0 heads will have cracks, some normal, some bad. People overheat all the time without towing, without even knowing... especially if they don't have gauges.

I had that problem with a 07 450 work truck , it came at the end of a series of the usual 6.0L problems. EGR cooler etc . I probably ran with low coolant at some point and didn't realize it . The dealer did try the injector sleaves but it didn't fix the problem . It turned out to be cracked heads . It had a bit over 300.000 km . I was due for a new service truck so they sold it "as is". Now I have a 2012 6.7L . Awesome

Thanks guys. I will pass along the info, and give him your recommendations. I didn't realize cracked heads was such a common problem. That's a nasty defect ! Anyway, I appreciate the advice.
