One piece electric door glass

I am going to write a "Tech Article" on installing a single door glass in a 52 F1 that is electrically operated in about a month. I have been working on it for months. I will include pictures and exact measurements along with what to do and what not to do!
This project is not for the faint of heart or someone that thinks it can be done in a weekend!
I finally think I have everything installed and it seems to be working OK.
The installation must be done before painting or look forward to repainting the doors.
To be continued:

A or B

Looking forward to your review...

i was thinking about using these:

supposedly a direct bolt in, but they have no feedback as far as durability like the kit you are using does.

I think the next one I install will be a lot easier due to the things I have learned.
A lot of the problem was cutting out and grinding down the webs to where the felt would fit correctly. Figuring out the location has taken a lot of time and tries but I think I seemed to have mastered it. It took me a lot of trial and error to determine the spacing of the offset for the motor and track from the inside door panel. I used steel tubing for the spacing. As I have it installed it only clears the outer door skin by 1/8" so no room for insulation behind motor assm. The window has a pretty good angle as it goes down into the door so the track & motor has to be in the same angle.

Forming the felt around the opening is a challenge, I had to buy an extra one and will probably have to buy one more before the final assm. You just cannot rush the forming!

I have it installed and it runs up smoothly. I cannot really check it lowering very well since I do not have the glass glued into the lifting track but I'm convinced I have it whipped!

1948-1952 Ford Truck Front Doors-One Piece Glass-No Switches (Includes Motor Plugs & Terminals)

This place manufactures similar window cranks. They might be able to give you some more info on them.

Sorry Bill don't mean to hijack your thread just thought this would be helpful to anybody thinking about these cranks,

BALL's Power Windows
Bought everything: glass, electric stuff with roller channel, felt, etc.
I am using below the dash brackets for switches as I didn't want to punch holes in the door.

That is what I installed in my 48 F1. I also mounted my switches in the front of my center console.

How much problem did you have mounting the lifting unit and did you use the solid or roller lift channel?
Your truck looks great.

It was a bit difficult mounting the motor and lift channel. I used tubes as spacers due to the angle of the lift for the glass. I used the roller lift channel because I removed the wing windows and replaced them with a channel for the window to follow. I might have some pictures if you would like.

You might put pictures on if you want for others to view. I have mine installed.
Did you use a bolt to secure the lower end of the new channel to the angle going to the inner door skin? I'm thinking of welding a bolt to the lower channel to where there is not a head in the channel where the felt goes.

No, I fabricated a tube adjuster with a bolt and nut that went over the bottom of the channel.
