1997 Ford expedition Misfire-New parts.
Hey guys new to the thread and I could really use your insight.
Little back ground story. I was given this expedition by my father in law. The vehicle has sat for around 5 years and hasnt been touched until recently. What I have purchase and installed for the vehicle so far.
8 MSD Streetfire coils
8 motorcraft sparkplugs
1 kn fuel filter
air filter
oil and filter
So after that being stated let me explain what is going on. when the car is in park under no load it has a bad shudder / misfire until it gets to around 2000 rpm after 2000 rpms it revs perfect and has plenty of power even runs good going down the road ( above 2000 rpms).
My problem is is that the car will not idle at all. So I figured the IAC valve but would that make the car misfire/shudder until 2000 rpms?

The seals inside the fuel injectors could've cracked from sitting around so long without being used. This will cause excessive fuel to be added to each cylinder and cause the roughness. At the higher RPMs or under load the extra fuel is required so it evens out the engine to run smoother.
Also, check the back center of the intake for a large rubber elbow that feeds the PCV system. Those are known to crack and leak vacuum and then cause all sorts of engine roughness at the lower RPMs.

Also could it be a coil pack even when it smooths out after 2000 rpm with no problem?
