R&D Roller Rockers

R&D Roller Rockers
Prototype is ready, I just need to make a few small changes....
Right now it wont clear the factory cover, so I am going to see if I can remedy that, but worst case, Ill do up some spacers and/or Fabbed VC's
Ill make the changes and the first batch is going on the bronco to be beat the hell out of.... After that, it should be fairly easy to do different ratios and whatnot, the machinist I have doing them has impressed me with the prototype, and they are pure beef....
updates soon.

Thats the idea, but I also want to offer different ratios, so the pushrod may be skewed up or down a tad.

awesome! altho i do believe if you wanted to run a higher ratio rocker,
machining the slugs may be a requirement.
more lift = less room
emphases on fabbed valve covers.
some of my buddys keep asking me to make them.
the kinda friends that will pay the cash somewhere, but always want me to do stuff for free LOL.
myself included!!

If I ever end up doing a build there's a good chance I'd spring for these. $850 is a bit steep IMO for roller rockers but I recognize the R&D that goes into uncharted territory. I forget the other company that made some but I recall some fitment or quality issues?
Anyone with a flow bench flowed the IDI heads as cast and tried any porting? I'd like to see numbers and if flow improves past lift with stock cam or the available regrinds.

came with rockers, pedestals, and bolts.
currently there are no more stock on the roller rockers.
all orders through Mike@ Harland Sharpe will be machined upon ordering.
now, i installed them, and i really didnt like the placement of the pushrod in the clearance hole of the head.
i put them off to the side for this build. i will test on another engine.

Justin, you should have them anodized before you put them on the shelf!
and a Lexan valve cover

PlumCrazy is right. I was quoted $1,300 by Mike Becker at Harland Sharp on 9/10/13 for the IDI roller rockers. I was told it will never be stocked, only available as a custom order. And if memory serves me correctly, an earlier attempt by Justin Wheeler to leverage a group buy to lower the price resulted in a very disappointing discount. Clearly a case of squeezing every dime out of a custom commodity... if you want to play you got to pay.
So yes, $850-ish sounds pretty good. Especially if custom ratios prove to be viable. It will allow valve movements beyond what can be done with regrinding the stock lobe profile. As far as porting, Justin was starting to work on some flow numbers but ended up finding a crack in one of his 6.9 heads and has not gotten back to it. IDI heads flow extremely well to begin with, so porting is not a huge area of opportunity.
