Today my never ending project didn't let me down!

The wiring harness for the tail lights has failed where it turns out from the frame to the trailer connector.

I will have to replace the wire one of these days and I will probably take the box off because it will be so much easier. While I am at it I would like to put one of the new style trailer hitch electrical receptivals that has the 4 wire and 7 round connector. I may even run a four wire in the bed for the camper.

Pic for fun.

And it's driveway friend

Enjoy the pics see you all in September.

The wiring didn't happen but a friend's shop got a new roof and we are on the road so the kids can BMX race.

I haven't fixed the fan shroud and we drove through town. It didn't over heat but got warm enough to lift a spring clamp on the radiator hose. Bummer I didn't bring a hose clamp!

Off to the races!

The hose clamp issue was resolved with fuel neck hose clamps.

When we accelerated on to the freeway the truck suddenly slowed at about 34psi boost. It was a sudden chop of power then it came back just as I shifted up. Is there a fuel cut? I wasn't watching the tack maybe I went through the rpm? No check engine light. I didn't get after it like that the rest of the trip as my wife was not excited to 'race around' with a loaded camper and kids.

I'm going to get chastised here...

In my opinion the map was never meant to see the boost leveles we are putting to them today. The map is a sensitive electrical device with a narrow band of operation. I did a boost regulator to not slam my map with 50lbs and kill it. My tuens therefore are set up so 25ish lbs that the regulator starts reliving at is set up as max boost for fueling pourpouses.
Many say no these do not defuel...I'm not saying that but at some point a sensor that would maybe see max of 15 stock is gonna check out at 35lbs...

I did a boost fooler on a gas car I had. I will look through my junk and see what I can come up with that will limit the pressure to the map.

Today was firewood day. We live near Whistler BC and the girls go skiing so it is the best way to dry gear and heat the house st the same time. Sure feels like a lot of work when I look at the SMALL pile. Maybe a cord or so of green fir. Hand split is what did me in.

Nate, are you sure you didn't just run out of HPO? Any codes?

That is what would happen when I threw the 1211 code.

Not to sure but I suspect I ran out of RPM. The T500 should keep up with ones. I have not scanned it but the check engine light is not/was not on. I wasn't sure if it would defuel for boost. The gas engine I had boosted up would defuel and it felt similar. I will be flying into the woods for the next week or so and may do a test when I get back. Depends how much time I have between shifts.

Well I am back in town. I have been very busy the last couple days. Today was the best though. I got to test the truck and I picked up a zf5s42 for $300.

I also picked up 9 bottles of red line d4 (on sale for 16 abottle) so I'll see how that goes with my transmission work.

The truck ran great. I was able to maintain speed up all the hills and not streas about egt. 34psi was max boost in the 100hp tune. I tried to run the hotter one once but wasn't able to spool fast enough to clear the smoke.

This weekend is the weekend of box swaps. I have wired a bull nose and my 1995. I got into the harness on my 1997 and it is a little different. What is the green wire? I have identified all the tail light wiring and most the trailer wiring except the green wire.

Trailer, red and orange are the same. Red was added as a bypass at some point.

Tail light wiring. Odd green in the back ground.

The odd one. Any ideas? It goes into the factory harness. Dually marker maybe???

The odd green wire is run from the stop lamp switch and is for a high mount rear brake lamp. Sweet! Now to patch the harness and get on with fixing things!
