Hey guys. Looking to see if anyone on here knows the best way to get oil out of your heater core? I had an oil cooler go bad a cause all sorts of issues with my truck. I have since replaced the motor ( including the oil cooler and the gasket that mounts to the block). I have a new radiator and reservoir ready to go in but, the heater core is full of oil and id hate to put oil into them. Whats the best way to flush out the oil? Not sure exactly how much is in there. My truck is a 00 F250 w/ 5.4
Probably the easiest and or best way would be to just replace it with a new one. I doubt that you would be able to remove all traces of oil with the core still in the truck, probably need to hot tank it and at that point just replace it.
Something old-school I learned from my dad, has it MUST be non-foaming. Foaming will not do the job, cause your engine to overheat, and make a big mess.
